Episcopal School of Dallas
The Episcopal School of Dallas (ESD) camp is for ages 6-11. It typically starts at 9:00 and ends at noon, and is taught by long-time Mrs. McVeigh’s Manners instructor, Ceslyn Mathis. The camp runs Monday – Friday. The price is $200.
We hold a Holiday Manners Class every November, the Sunday before Thanksgiving. In this 1:00-4:00 class, we cover: Meeting and Greeting; Appearances; How to Set the Table; Table Manners; Being a Good Guest; Gifts; and Thank you Notes. The cost is $95.00 per person. Sign up is typically available no later than October. December classes are available some years. Note: This is not a Christmas Manners Class. We are respectful of all religions and seasonal celebrations.
Mrs. McVeigh’s Manners typically holds a one-week summer camp at the Episcopal School of Dallas in June (go to their website to sign up), and one in August in the home of Mrs. McVeigh in Dallas (near Southern Methodist University).
We make the topics different so children have the opportunity to learn at both camps, if they choose.
Mrs. McVeigh’s Manners
The manners camp in Mrs. McVeigh’s home is for ages 3-11. It typically starts at 9:30, and ends at 12:30. The camp runs Monday – Friday. It is held the week before school starts for the Highland Park School District.
For all camps, we ask that a lunch, bottle of water, and disposable napkin is brought daily.
The children will bring home a “What we did today” sheet, so parents can ask them questions on what they have learned.
Children will receive a placemat, book or chart at the end of the camp. The Mrs. McVeigh’s Magnificent Manners Show video will be emailed to each parent for download.
